Ronald P. White, M.D.

Dr. White is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon with advanced fellowship level training in hip and knee construction as a distinguished Aufranc fellow while in Boston, Massachusetts. He also served as an instructor on the Tuft's University Medical Faculty while in Boston. For the past ten years Dr. White has limited his practice to diseases and surgery of the hip and knee. He was the driving force behind the development of a joint replacement unit at Doctors Hospital of Sarasota with expanded operating rooms to accommodate the special requirements of joint replacement surgery and the postoperative "total joint unit" which totally functions as a "hotel within the hospital."

Dr. White has served on several orthopaedic industry panels as a consultant and designer to bring new and improved joint replacements to the marketplace. He has participated in many internal review board studies pertaining to the hip and knee. His interest in research has helped to develop pain protocols that lessen the postoperative pain for the joint replacement patient resulting in shorter hospital stays and quicker rehabilitation. He has published peer review articles in many major orthopaedic journals and delivered lectures at the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons' annual meeting, the largest annual meeting of orthopaedic surgeons worldwide. Dr. White has also been elected into membership of the American College of Surgeons and American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons. Dr. White welcomes those with both operative and nonoperative diseases of the hip or knee.
